Expedition Hunt offers trips to the Himalayas year-round, but there are of course better times to climb, trek, and sightsee in the mountains than others. The guidelines below can help you decide on the best time of year for your trip.

CLIMBING: The Himalayas

Best period: From the first week of July to mid-September
Not recommended: From mid-September to mid-July (no commercial expeditions run during this period.)

TREKKING: Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand & Himachal

Best period: From the mid-June. to mid-October
Not recommended: From mid-October to mid-June

Sightseeing: Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand & Himachal

Best period: All year round.
Not recommended: During monsoon; from July to August (Himachal & Uttarakhand only)

CLIMBING & TREKKING: 

Best period: From September to July
Not recommended: During monsoon; from June to August
