Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Bagdogra, Siliguri

Travel: Drive from Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or NJP Railway Station to Gangtok.
Stay: Hotel in Gangtok.
Activities: Permit arrangement and trek briefing.

Day 2: Drive to Yuksom (1,780m)

Distance: ~123 km | 6-7 hours by car.
Stay: Guesthouse/Hotel in Yuksom.
Activities: Explore Yuksom, visit Dubdi Monastery, and prepare for the trek.

Day 3: Trek from Yuksom to Sachen (2,200m)

Distance: ~8 km | 5-6 hours.
Altitude Gain: +420m.
Trail: Forested trail, suspension bridges, and river crossings.
Stay: Campsite at Sachen.

Day 4: Sachen to Tshoka (2,950m)

Distance: ~7 km | 4-5 hours.
Altitude Gain: +750m.
Trail: Steep ascents, rhododendron forests, and vibrant prayer flags in Tshoka.
Stay: Lodge or campsite in Tshoka.

Day 5: Tshoka to Dzongri (4,020m)

Distance: ~10 km | 6-7 hours.
Altitude Gain: +1,070m.
Trail: Rhododendron forests and breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga and Mt. Pandim.
Stay: Campsite at Dzongri.

Day 6: Acclimatization Day in Dzongri

Activities:
- Short hike to Dzongri Top (4,200m) for sunrise views of Kanchenjunga, Kabru, and Pandim.
- Rest and acclimatization.
Stay: Campsite at Dzongri.

Day 7: Dzongri to Thansing (3,930m)

Distance: ~9 km | 4-5 hours.
Altitude Change: -90m (descent to Kokchurung and ascent to Thansing).
Trail: Descend through dense forest and follow the Prek Chu River to alpine meadows.
Stay: Campsite at Thansing.
